Shadow Work with Matt Feeney
Co-worker and long time friend, Matt Feeney was awarded an art grant to produce a piece of interactive art for the regionally sanctioned Burning Man event known as Apogaea. The 12 foot tall illuminated spire surrounded by various objects, creates colored shadows during daytime through the use of translucent and opaque items from laser-cut acrylic panels, and at night the shadows multiply and produce an array of new colors with the use of RGB (red, green, blue) banks of overhead LED lighting. The title of the piece is based on Matt’s personal journey and is representational of his own growth to become a more whole and spiritually aware individual. Although the Apogaea festival was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances, a many of the attendees had the privilege to witness Matt’s creative vision and personal journey.
